I have been writing my books for many years. However, I had no courage to show them to anyone. They were known only by my mother and son, who is now much taller than me. My first publisher was found in a phone book, the second one in the Internet, the third one simply recommended by somebody. The effects were not impressive. I did not believe in seeing my own published books in the future. A lot of tales were simply destroyed or lost. I had no computer so I wrote everything by hand. Somebody told me publishers were not interested in handwritten books so I decided to use the computer in the company I worked in from the 4 a.m. to the work start-time.

Once my employer, a master of engineering Adam Nowosad, the owner of the company DROZD, said he would publish my books. „It is impossible! – I was almost crying. – It cannot be so that a boss, who is active in the nutrition industry, and in addition to this, who leads a network of hydraulic warehouses, could publish my books”. However, the people who know Mr. Nowsad can confirm what is the power of his determination. There was no use in my protesting, tears or begging. The published books were with the fortuneteller (so with me) on the cover. I was scared that our company would lose money so me and the colleague of mine – Maria Obszańska – went from one bookshop to another in the whole Poland and tried to persuade the owners to sell our books. Unfortunately, we heard only: „Piasecka? Piasecka? Who's that? Is she famous?” „Unfortunately, no” – I answered with tears in my eyes. I did not want even to say that it was me who was the author of all the offered books. „No, thanks!” – they answered – „You can come to us when she will be well-known. Now we sell mostly Harry Potter and school books”. It was a very hard time for me. I read my tales loudly during outdoor events until some librarians discovered my books. I suppose now there is no single library in Poland where my books would not be.

Nowadays it is very hard to raise interest in books. Media are looking for sensation. We hear all about a book written by Madonna but a lot of people would have serious problems with telling a few names of modern novelists or poets. I can say today for sure that writing a book is a pleasure for an author but reaching readers is almost impossible. A lot of talented novelists will never show their literary works to other people. They will only dream about beeing known. Do we really need a miracle so that someone can find their luck?

I am really thankful to all the people who helped me to write my books and especially to: Adam Nowosad – my previous employer who helped me to become a writer; Maria Obszańska – a very good friend, I would not do anything without her; Jan Puchalski – the owner of the company Pujan, known because its patronage of literature; Ewa Jabłońska – a crazy teacher who brought up the second generation of children from a kindergarten with my tales help. I would also like to thank to my Mother and Son – my first readers; also to Librarians, Teachers, Parents, who recommend my books and read them with their children. Thanks to my all beloved Readers!
